Chicken Pie!

Yesterday i went to Hannah's house to make chicken pie! It was my first attempt in baking. Firstly, we went to NTUC to get the ingredients which included chicken thigh and capsicum. She had other ingredients like garlic, onion, mushrooms and potato at home. Removing the chicken fats was tough! Slicing it into smaller pieces was tough too. After cutting the chicken thigh, we went on to cut the vegetables and onion. Then we seasoned the chicken and fried the ingredients together to make the filling. After which, we placed it in the fridge and started to make the pastry for the pie.

After shaping the pastry, we put the filling inside. Then we galzed the top surface with egg yolk. After preheating the oven, we placed the chicken pie inside for 35mins. Haha and after slicing the big pie into 4 pieces, it looked like this..

Haha do not be mistaken..its not burnt! Just that i think we used too much egg yolk to glaze the top surface. The crust was a bit hard and thick too..think i did not shape the pastry well enough..BUT i was so glad that Kelvin said that it was nice! My mum thought it was nice too! Think that she is so glad that i am finally making myself useful in the kitchen. And i enjoyed the whole process of making it with Hannah:) Baking is fun! Lol..Will upload more pics when i get them from Hannah.

Haha, as a sidenote, it's rather sad that school holidays are coming to an end soon. Back to school :( But this hols has been a rather different, happy and satisfying one. I won't trade anything in the world for what i've been through and all the happiness that we shared. Each day i just feel more and more blessed to be with u..To that special person..thanks! Looking forward to the chalet next week:)

Updates..

A few days ago, Kelvin and I made a jigsaw puzzle together. Haha it was fun but i admit it is not easy cos there are so many green alligators in the picture. Nonetheless it is still my favourite jigsaw puzzle:)
Last friday, went for primary school gathering at swensens in Marina Square. Glad to meet up since we have not met for such a long time. We switched positions so we could talk to everyone. Before i knew it, Sally and i were sitting right in front of my teacher! Here's the pic..

On Saturday, went to meet Kelvin's buddies Reeve and Zihua. Ate pizza at Pizza Hut in Sengkang in the most awkward position cos our table was near the door:S It was rather crowded maybe coz it was a Saturday. Then Reeve entertained us on his stories about bargaining in Shanghai. After that, Kelvin drove to ulu starbucks at Thomson Plaza for a drink and to rest n chat. Haha it was great to know them:)

Precious Moments

A few days ago i met up with Jaz and Sally for lunch at Plaza Singapura. Haha it was really great cos 3 of us have not met up for a long time! Missed the times in sec sch when we used to be able to meet up more often to chat and have fun. Even though Sally is in NUS now, we did not get to meet up last semester for lunch due to clashes in our timetable. Hope we would be able to meet up more often next semester:) Sally gave me this unique bulletin board for my 21st birthday. Its soo cute. Thanks!

Haha today Kelvin and I celebrated my mum's birthday by taking her out for dim sum, followed by Sentosa and supper. The dim sum tasted great. I think i called alot of food. Haha. Then we drove into Sentosa. It was really a different experience driving in. Firstly, i was amazed by the cashcard system when we first entered. Technology is indeed advanced. Our entrance fee was paid directly from deduction of the cashcard placed in the cashcard system in the car.

Next we wanted to watch Songs of the Sea at 7.40pm. But it was full house by the time we reached. So we only got to buy the 8.40pm tickets. We decided to walk around Sentosa. Our first stop was the skyride and Luge at Sentosa. Haha..My mum and I took the skyride 2-way while Kelvin and my bro took the skyride up and the luge down. The view up there was really nice. Could still remember my mother's expression once she got up. I think she was very nervous but yet excited at the same time. Haha. Here are some pictures taken.

Next we decided to take the skytrain around Sentosa. Hmm still prefer the monorail last time though. It was very crowded. But we managed to get seats on the route back from Vivo to Sentosa. And i think it travelled rather fast compared to the monorail last time. Within a short period of time, we had already gone 1 round and returned back to the Beach Station. After that we decided to take the tram around Sentosa. Here are some pictures taken while waiting and on the tram.

Lastly, we went to watch Songs of the Sea. It was really nice! Worth the money. The effects and view was spectacular. Full of laser lights, water jets and bursts of fire. Really enjoyed it. Kelvin and my bro took video and pictures of the performance. Haha only disappointed by the Moonlight Combo. It included a ticket, and a drink with either popcorn, nachos or hotdog. We chose popcorn, which we regretted later cos it was not freshly made but enclosed in a packet. Looked like some cheapo popcorn which my bro said tasted like paper:( It was salty too which made us even more thirsty:S

Lastly, we went for supper. Had a filling meal! Thanks for everything today Kelvin. Love u:)
