A pleasant surprise

We finally gave Kelvin a PS3 he wanted:) Yesterday was so enjoyable that i forgot that school was going to start today! I started to dread school even more while talking to kris during the second round of steamboat about lab:(

Lab today was indeed horrible. In my first time in 3 years, I had the rare oppurtunity to pair up with xiuhui! But..our experiment today was so hard that we just dreaded it all the way till it ended. We were stuck in the comp lab using some programme to form and calculate some molecules on their electric potential, molecular orbitals,...........Using the comp was even harder than doing the experiment by hand cos there were so many commands to type. You could imagine how lost me and Xiuhui were. Kelvin would have been a great help if he was there. Lol..

Haha, despite feeling quite sad and irritated by the experiment today, i was actually thinking back on the process of getting Kelvin's birthday present and thinking back on what happened on sat when we went to get the present and finally giving it to Kelvin on Sunday. Wish that we could relive those memories again. It was indeed heartwarming and the happiness on his face made me feel that everything was worth it. I guess everyone else felt the same. Haha we took quite alot of photos with his family and friends. Thanks to everyone for being so supportive and putting in so much effort to make the celebration so enjoyable:) I am indeed lucky to have so much support too!

Thanks to Kris and her mum for preparing so much food. The steamboat was indeed delicious! Cheese tofu and fresh live prawns did taste good! And for the first time, i actually got to eat real new moon abalone. Haha it did taste good too!

School is starting:(

Haha just came back from the chalet! It was fun..along the way back met shaoxuan who was at another chalet a short distance away from ours.

This month is gonna be exciting but tiring..Starting to feel the fatigue of taking so many tuition assignments even before school has started. Haiz..what to do..after mother broke her elbow and went for op i was determined not to let her work anymore. I should work harder in case anything happens.

MOE called me down for interview next week after i sent the application in Dec. Somehow everything seems kind of fast. Thinking about it, i will be graduating quite soon too. Haha although i dread uni life sometimes i think ill be missing it when i step out to work. So glad that they chose Chemistry and Maths for me to teach at Sec school level. Hope the interview goes on fine.

This sem i finally felt the 'power' of having so many points in my account to bid for modules. Bidding went on smoothly..and i was glad. But the worst disaster came about yesterday when my ally joyce mentioned about some debate in our history gem module.

"In addition to the formal, closed-book examination at the end of the semester, there will be a variety of assessment tasks in this module ranging from multiple-choice objective tests (MC), to classroom debates, discussion forum activity, and class participation. All of these tasks generate marks in the following ways:

MC = 20%; Debates = 20%; Discussion Forum = 10%; Class Participation = 10%

Participation in all things is required of you. Silence in (or perpetual absence from) class together with no involvement on the forum will guarantee a zero in both categories. It would be crazy to go along that path since to do so will eliminate 20% of your grade. Work out the math….."

Haiz so mean right? No wonder could get this module for 1 point. I have in mind to S/U it but seems like i also have to put in minimum effort.  Worst thing is that the tutorial timings are not out! please don't let the tutorials fall on my free day~:(

Tragic December

Lots of things happened this month!

Firstly, the tragic exams ended in Dec and results were released on 23rd Dec. But glad that things didn't turn out that bad for me and Kelvin.

Secondly, we encountered a rough patch in our relationship but we had the courage to finally confront each other and to talk about our problems which eventually boiled down to just one problem-communication. Because we loved each other so much we were afraid to express how we felt sometimes which eventually resulted in miscommunication. But through the tougher times we had together, we love and cherish each other even more...and had a wonderful xmas eve together.

We had a feast at Pizza Hut and went to watch Bedtime Stories during midnight on xmas eve. Before the movie, we exchanged presents we bought for each other. Haha that day was really special because Kelvin was dressed very nicely and he did smell good. Haha..he gave me Walle toys and a 4GB Sony thumbdrive which contained a special video on us..I got him a crocs handphone pouch with Walle buttons on top which he thought was better to place his camera in for support instead. Lol..anw im just glad he likes it that way too! But the most important thing that day was that we both enjoyed each others company and time spent together that day really felt special. Here are some pics we took..

Thirdly, my mum fell, knocked her head and broke her elbow in the childcare she was working in. Really quite tragic and felt quite upset that she was so badly hurt. Luckily her head was alright, except that her elbow is in a cast now.

The last thing happened today..on 31st Dec 08. Our sweet 7th month anniversary together..We met with an accident in Sembawang. While trying to change lane, a bus travelling at high speed suddenly cut into the lane we were trying to change into and damaged the front left side of the car. Could hear the front left headlight break and glass scattering. Then the front license plate dropped too. Bumper was also damaged. But the most important thing was that both of us were not injured and the bus driver was reasonable. He told us to claim from insurance.

Then we drove slowly back to Kelvin's place and looked for numbers to call. After that we drove to the place for accident claims. But the people there said that Kelvin was at fault and it was hard to win the case against the bus driver. Because he did not own the car he had to pay for the damages. Poor Kelvin..He did look upset and shocked..And it really wasnt his fault cos the bus was travelling so fast and his car was slow to respond.

Haiz but we couldnt do anything bcos it had already happened..Then we went to have lunch at 4plus..was starving by then..and had a good meal for dinner cos it was our anniversary. Just hope that we can put the incident behind us and learn from the experience. Accidents are unavoidable sometimes..
